Beautiful Day at the Bay

Last week we went to 18th street on the bay side with Keli, Dana, Stacey and all the kids. I just didn't get enough pictures, especially of the cute and crazy boys. We did have a great time and can't wait to revisit this little secret spot.

Cheer Camp

Fast forward a few years and I can just hear Sophie and Sofia now, "like totally, we had such a super fun time!" With her friends Ella and Eve, these girls got yummy treats from there instructors. And of course, always miss messy right there watching.
The girls learned a cute dance and a couple of cheers and performed for all us mommy's and daddy's. Sofia and Bella's favorite part was trying out the flyer. They get to perform for the first football game at halftime against Newport Harbor in September. Hope you can come and watch.

Some changes around here...

Its been exciting that some things are getting finished (although never for to long) and done around here. This window in our living room has had these romans on it for a couple of years now. My intentions for hanging them high was because I wanted to find some amazing fabric and sew curtains. Found some beautiful fabrics along the many months but the catch is the price tag that follows. For a girl who can't commit to style, I just couldn't surrender to the amount. That is okay though, change is good. My girl, Keli, found these sweet curtains at Kmart of all places for dirt cheap, that's why we love that place, right? I had to add some fabric to lengthen them but they sure make me happy when I walk down the hall and see a print and color on the wall.
Jeff and my step dad, Jim, are building a super practical and very stylish banquet. I imagine I can get 6-8 little booties in there. They are going to drop the bookshelf down, make it the same height and paint all of it white. My family is so excited they don't have to wipe off the table every time we sit down to eat, which we do because our table is outside. These boys worked so hard last weekend and I am so grateful! I can't wait to see the finished product.
Here is our new but old table that got a lime green finish. Thanks to Jeff and Sofia for picking out the very brightest color that could have been chosen. I hope this color will bring a smile to anyone who comes over. To be continued...

Summer Nights

Since we've been enjoying our lazy summer days (and nights) we should title this as "Lazy Days" but we love Grease and are listening to this song as I write and it should actually be called Summer Lovin'... I'm enjoying the girls sleeping in late, crafting around, beach/pool days, the color everywhere from our yard to the crayola creations and also the sounds of there little voices, which will probably change for me at the end of this month. But for now, its still summer lovin' and I become a bit gloomy when I think about school days and the repetition of it all. Here the girls made fresh squeezed orange juice while Jeff was BBQing. There's nothing like taking a drink of room temperature orange juice and then almost choking on a surprise of pulp, mmm, mmm, mmm!

L.E.T.S.G.O., Lets Go!

The girls are teaching Papa a cheer from cheer camp this week. It was quite the view, and I am not referring to the beautiful bay. It was to bad that there wasn't anyone to witness how hilarious this was.

Summer is gradually coming to an end and school is approaching. I seem to always feel like I didn't do enough craft, movies and library days, or park and picnics but I mostly grieve over the reality that everyday can't be at the beach or pool. It seems though the kids can never have enough either. Pool day is always a good day!

Active Aly

Mischievous and naughty-yes, detrimental and harmful-no. Its just hair! Looks like my niece Aly had an idea which lead to an impressively adorable haircut. I love her impulse of just going for it.

Its Time For Dodger Baseball

If you don't know Vin Scully (or how I always thought, Vince Cully) then that is what he says before every game and it is very thrilling in the Rice home. Jeff told us the night before he got 4 tickets and as some of you think of the Hollywood sign when you go to LA, he thinks of the THINK BLUE sign in the hills of the stadium.
Bella practicing her ridiculous, but cute faces to try and get on the jumbo screen. Maybe next time!

How close are we?

We had awe-mazing seats. I've never been able to see the players in there tight pants so close up. The girls kept running down to the wall and asking for balls, they can home with two. Don't you remember being young and cute and getting everything you want?

That is a Dodger dog and it should be required for every pregnant mama to try one. Food just taste so delicious these days and that is one high quality hot dog.
Daddy had to run back to the car and get Bella's jacket. Oh the journey with kids, entertaining and amusing with a splash of annoyance.
By nine o'clock and almost the 9th inning, boredom was settling in. I gave my phone to the girls and they took about 20 pictures, each. I let them keep 1 each and these are what they choose.
Even though The Dodgers lost we still had a surprisingly supurb time. All the thanks to Bryan, Myra and Candy for taking our little Rubi.
